We regularly hear of houses that are available for purchase. We find properties through local contacts rather than through agents (who may inflate prices if they suspect a west European or American buyer). Vendors are usually unaware of any western involvement until papers are ready for signing.

Because of this we do not maintain a catalogue of properties, but will be able to find a selection of properties for prospective buyers to view.

The house on the (above left) is owned by a friend and is typical of some of the houses that can be bought for improvement. The property is located inland in a small settlement near the village of Posta and is still available at a price of EUR 12,500. Although the house needs a considerable amount of work, it is set in extensive grounds (including a vineyard) which would be suitable for development according to Romanian planning laws.

The other pictures show houses that we have looked at. For a good size house in good condition, prices are likely to be within a price range of EUR 20,000 to EUR 30,000.
